CSV Upload Guide
Manage your products on Abba Baba using our manual CSV upload feature.
The CSV (Comma-Separated Values) upload feature is designed for merchants who do not use one of our natively supported platforms like Shopify or WooCommerce. It allows you to manually upload, update, and manage your product catalog.
Is CSV Upload Right for You?
- • You have a custom-built e-commerce store.
- • You use a platform that we don't yet support with a direct integration.
- • You want to test Abba Baba with a small, curated set of products before fully integrating.
Step 1: Download the CSV Template
To ensure your data is mapped correctly, you must use our official CSV template.
- 1. Log in to your Abba Baba merchant account.
- 2. Navigate to the "Products" → "CSV Upload" section.
- 3. Click the "Download CSV Template" button. This will provide you with a pre-formatted file containing all the required and optional headers.
Step 2: Prepare Your CSV File
Open the template in any spreadsheet software (like Microsoft Excel, Google Sheets, or Apple Numbers) and fill in your product data.
Required Fields
- sku: A unique identifier for your product. This is essential for updating products later.
- title: The name of your product.
- description: A detailed description of your product.
- price: The product's price in a standard currency format (e.g., 19.99).
- inventory_quantity: The number of items you have in stock.
- image_url_1: A direct, public URL to at least one product image.
Optional Fields
Providing more data will improve your product's visibility and Quality Score. Optional fields include `brand`, `category`, `image_url_2`, `sale_price`, and more. Refer to the template for a full list.
Note: Do not change the column headers in the template. Doing so will cause the upload to fail.
Step 3: Upload Your CSV File
Once your file is ready, return to the "CSV Upload" page in your merchant dashboard.
- 1. Drag and drop your file into the upload area, or click to select it from your computer.
- 2. Our system will validate the file. If there are formatting errors, you will be notified with specific details.
- 3. If validation is successful, the products will be imported into your catalog. This may take a few minutes for large files.
Updating Products via CSV
To update existing products, simply re-upload a CSV file with the same `sku` for the products you wish to change. Our system will use the `sku` to find the existing product and update its information with the new data from your file.
